Slooooow Sales???

It's been 2 days since my last sale. I am so confused about this stretch that I have been going on. I will do pretty okay one day and then go 2 or 3 days. I am beginning to wonder what is going on?

I'm wondering if my shop needs to be revamped again? New backrounds? List new items?

Is anyone else used to regular sales slowing down too? Is this the calm before the storm of Holiday Season Shopping? OOORRRR is this telling me that this could be my WORST Holiday Season ever?!

I try to mention it on Etsy, but it seems that if someone has over 100 sales, they should just be greatful and not complain about anything at all.

I've been slower than usual too, though I do have 2 pretty large custom orders I'm working on right now. I try not to complain either because I do have over 1000 sales, I should be grateful, but I still need to make sales like everyone else!!!

I agree that you also have to make sure that you keep getting sales, worry about slowing down, have to pay for supplies, etc. -- and yes, I have seen the slowdown, but I've done my complaining on a different thread LOL.

But, being on the other end, it is hard to see someone who gets daily sales complain! LOL. Most of us just hope for a sale every couple of weeks!!! But, I do try to stay positive and just use all the advise to eventually get myself there, MOST people, though, are way too defensive and just get mad and/or hostile!!! Bummer really, because it's always nice to share ideas with people who get more sales!

Thanks ladies! It's good to see that it's not just me experiencing the slow down. I'm hoping it will pick up soon. I have some destash to list and a few new items as well. I think i also need to sit down and just create a bunch of new pieces to list, to bring some of my past customers in to look around again.

Yeah, I think, well actually I KNOW, that is exactly what I need to do. I havent' come up with any new designs in quite awhile. I was actually feeling kinda burnt out and was busy with life that I just didn't feel the creative juices flowing. Hoping once I get through this order I will be motivated to do some new stuff to list.

I ahve had it the same way...no slaes for a day or two then 2-4 good size ones in one day...then nothing again, lol.

It seems to be an odd wave we're riding! Just this past week, I went like 5 days without a sale!!! That was the MOST amount of days EVER since I have opened that I have gone. It's true though, that there are newer shops everyday and no matter how much of a niche market you have, there are people popping in to do it cheaper and pretty much exactly the same. It stinks! haha!!

I am listing some art SUPPLIES in my shop. My main sales come from my ACEO prints and originals, SO I am adding ACEO blanks so others can create them too!

Yeah, I did it in the past and they usually sold...to the same person over and over again, but hey! It's a sale, lol!

Very cool! I hearted them! This could be something for my little peanut! She's in loooove with painting, drawing and creating! She loves working with paint, markers and colored pencils!

It's true, my supply shop gets sales daily, and I don't even have that much listed there, 10 or 12 items only! That's proof that there are way more sellers shopping than non-sellers!

But, I've gotten plenty of jewelry sales to Etsy sellers, so that's ok (to a point LoL)

I do some handforged findings, but mostly sell gift boxes, ring tags, and the like! Especially now for the holidays!!! Really busy right now, every time I put up a new listing, it's gone. Cool, but it's pretty cheap stuff. I mostly started the supply shop so that I could get bulk supplies for myself and have them paid for with the extras I sell. Works well too. I do get orders for the earwires occasionally too. Probably would more if I spent more time making and listing them LoL!
