Look at my negative feedback I just got!


i was stupid and thought this was the actual hat so i bought it. says it was shipped october 5th and its now november 5th and i still havent recieved it. either way, im not too happy


first, she never contacted me about this! plus she acknowledges that it is her mistake! I emailed the pattern to her AND left her a convo about it the day it was purchased and still she leaves me a neg!! WTF!


grrrrrrrrrr...sorry, just needed to vent to someone who might understand. It just really irks me when the first word of the title is PATTERN and all in CAPS....and still people think they are buying a finished item for less than $6! Counting this one, it has happened to me twice this month!

grrrrrr! I'd be mad too! I sell PDFs too and I have had people contact me after purchasing to say that they made a mistake and wanted the actual item, thankfully they did not behave as your buyer did and leave feedback like that. Since then I always put text on the actual first photo clearly stating that it is a PDF. Not sure if that would help you or not.

If I were you I'd contact that buyer and try to arrange a kiss and make up. Would you consider refunding her the purchase price? I know PDFs typically are not refundable, I'm not sure I would refund, but it's something to consider if that's what it would take to get the feedback to change.

also, you do have glowing feedback, your percentage is still 100%, so I would NOT refund for her obvious mistake. I looked at the listing and if she would have read even a portion of the title or description she should have known. I'd still try to contact her and try to kiss and make up, maybe offer to sell her a hat with a discount of the purchase of the PDF? So if the hat is $20 and the PDF is $5, offer to sell her one for $15???

Just thinking aloud....

I don't think it would be worth it to offer a discount just to get the feedback removed. I'd point out that you feel the feedback is unfair and ask her to show you where in the title or description that you were misleading so you can make sure no one else makes the same mistake.

And this is just another reason I don't leave feedback until the buyer has Wink

Okay, that's just insane! That stuff ticks me off. I had a reserved Wholesale Order that had 25 Lego Bracelets in it and it was 25.00 because they had to make a downpayment. Someone ELSE bought it and l explained it to them AND the listing said RESERVED in the title, description said RESERVED DOWN PAYMENT For XXX

This person still got made, left neg and INSISTED that I give them 25 bracelets for 15.00. I told them they could have the wholesale offer and they were livid.

Etsy did remove the neg and cancelled the transaction.

by asking them to point out where it is misleading is to show them how dumb they are and get them to realize how unfair they are! Your listing isn't misleading at all!

Thanks ladies. Whenever someone purchase a pattern by mistake, which happens a few times a year, I always offer to make them a custom one (at regular price) and credit them the price of the pattern. That is my standard policy. But I never refund them.

I feel better now. thanks again.

I did initiate kiss and make up-plus sent them an email, a new convo, and another convo on the original one that stated that the pattern was emailed to them. We'll see what happens. I'm really not that worried about it. Anyone who reads their neg will see that it was their mistake. I just don't understand why she is still expecting a hat in the mail when she realizes it is a pattern now??? LOL!!

And Michelle...that is insane what happened to you!

I received my first (double) Neutral feedback, without any explanation from the buyer. I initiated kiss and make up, no answer yet. I feel this feedback is totally unfair and I asked the buyer for a reason and for a way I could satisfy her.

Did it happen to you? What would be a seller's best attitude in this situation?

She did the kiss and make up and I offered to make her a hat. Don't think she liked my price and turned me down. oh well.

Ileana-usually they do contact me back.not sure what to do in your situation., sorry.

Ileana, I had someone leave me a neutral once but the text they wrote was that the items was great. So I initiated the kiss and make up and asked what I could do to make their experience a positive one instead of neutral, or to at least let me know why she left neutral instead of positive. It was at least a month before I ever heard back. I'd already decided that I'd never hear from her and it had gotten buried by then anyway. But she finally did write back and said it was a mistake and she changed it to positive Very Happy. Hope that you hear back soon and get it resolved!

Thank you, Wendy and Jennifer. I will convo her again to ask what I could do to make her experience a positive one, but I know she is not a good communicator. I wrote her before shipping letting her know I had a problem with the label, (her name was missing from the paypal info). I asked her politely to make the necessary correction. She never answered.
I always ship through Paypal because they offer protection. I was not able to print the label for her. I had to take the package to the Post Office and stay in line...

By the way, my mistake: I left a + feedback, because she paid on time. From now on I will only leave feedback after the buyer does.
